The Fox & Lantern Book Parlor is a family owned and operated bookstore in downtown Johnson City, Tennessee. We are creating a welcoming place for books, locally made crafts, conversation, and time spent together.
Why we are here
We want the parlor to be a place people return to: to discover a book, take part in a discussion, or enjoy a gathering. Our shelves and programming will reflect the readers and neighbors who help make this place their own.
Our downtown home

About us
Marcine and Emma are the mother-daughter duo behind The Fox & Lantern Book Parlor in downtown Johnson City, Tennessee. After moving from Arizona to Tennessee in 2023, they found a new home in Northeast Tennessee and began imagining a place where they could share their love of books and community.
Together, they are bringing that vision to life through a family owned and operated bookstore with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Their goal is to a pcreate lace where readers can browse the shelves, discover a new favorite, and connect through book clubs, literary events, and everyday conversation. The Fox & Lantern reflects their shared belief that books can bring people together and that a bookstore can become a meaningful part of its community.
